JAKARTA: Indonesia's government announced it was sending acacia seeds to both Malaysia and China in the hopes of boosting agricultural trade with the region. The country's forest industry firm, PT Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper (RAPP), said it has exported acacia seeds to Malaysia and China, Antara news agency reported a company official as saying. “This export indicates the international appreciation of the quality of acacia seeds produced by RAPP,” the company`s President Kusnan Rahmin said on Sunday. Although he did not give exact numbers on the number of seeds exported, he said that the RAPP has a capacity to produce some 200 million acacia seeds annually. According to him, “RAPP has developed the nursery technology for the timber estate in Palalawan district, Riau province.” RAPP has several nursery technology locations namely in Pangkalan Kerinci, Pelalawan and Baserah. “RAPP has also obtained certificates of Timber Legality Verification System (AVLK) and the Sustainable Forest Management (PHPL) for plantations since 2010,” he added
