CAIRO: The Advisory Council of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), demanded the latter to issue a constitutional declaration, including an amendment or adding a substitute for the Article 60, which stipulated that the Members of the Parliament elect the members of the Constituent Assembly to draft the Constitution. This comes following the ruling by the Cairo Administrative Court that halted the Constituent Assembly due to the monopoly of the Islamists MPs over more than half of its seats. The new Article demanded by the Advisory Council through the issuance of a Constitutional Declaration, stipulates setting regulations, standards and sources of the election of the Constituent Assembly to draft Egypt`s new Constitution, and to include all political, social, and religious spectrums of the Egyptian society, trade unions and judicial bodies and representatives of the army, police, and scientific research centers and remote cities, peasants, intellectuals, artists, women, youth and civil society, stressing that it is necessary for Egypt to overcome this dangerous impasse. Several political forces stressed during its meeting at the headquarters of the Advisory Council at its meeting on Tuesday, that they discussed the political situation and the crisis of the Constituent Assembly after the court ruling, which stopped its formation, stating that this was due to the lack of constitutionality and legality, which led to the collapse of its credibility.
