LAGOS: The Nigeria Communication Commission, NCC axed two illegal mobile phone dealer-companies in the country last weekend, Kexinda Nigeria Limited and G-TJde Nideria Limited in their bid to fight against undue interference on network. The two companies their head offices in Otigba market Ikeja completely shut down and sealed up by NCC for selling unapproved type mobile phones prohibited by the regulatory authority. Their top officials were also arrested and they took away samples phones seized and handed them over to the law enforcement agents for further action. The management and legal team of the affected companies failed in their efforts to salvage the situation as the NCC officials challenged them to produce evidence and certification that their phones were type approved, which they could not produce. Unfortunately, the officials of Kehinda resorted to violent attacks on both NCC officials after applying different strategy which failed but the violence was curtailed by some security. This negative action moved the NCC officials to intensify their search that resulted into the discovering the company's warehouse within the premises. The Head, Enforcement Unit Ncc. Mr. Efosa Idehen who led the enforcement team stated, “There are seven of them that we have marked out for clamp down. We will continue to pursue them until we rid our society of phones that are not type approved” BM ShortURL: http://goo.gl/Tm7ff Tags: clamp down, Mobile, Nigeria, unapproved, vendors Section: Crime, International, Latest News, Tech, West Africa
