Manila (dpa) – Three children were killed Monday in a fire that razed their house as their parents worked at their farm in a central Philippine province, police said. The children, aged 4 years, 2 years and 10 months, were sleeping at their house in Milagros town in Masbate province, 390 kilometers south-east of Manila, when the fire struck. Police Senior Superintendent Heriberto Olitoquit said a kerosene lamp accidentally fell from where it was hanging, igniting a mat below. The fire quickly spread through the thatched house, trapping the children who were burned to death, Olitoquit added.
