Manila (dpa) – Philippine police have arrested a suspect in the killing of an Italian priest in a southern province two months ago, a police regional director said Thursday. The suspect, identified as Jimmy Ato, is suspected of shooting Father Fausto Tentorio on October 17 in Arakan town in North Cotabato province, 930 kilometers south of Manila. Police regional director Felicisimo Khu said Ato was arrested during a pre-dawn raid on his house after a witness gave police a tip about his whereabouts. Tentorio, a 59-year-old native of Santa Maria Hoe in Italy's Lecco province, had been in the Philippines since 1978 with the missionary organization the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions.
