SINGAPORE: In what many observers are saying are the most expensive tickets in music history, residents in Hong Kong are paying nearly $4,000 on the black market to see pop superstar Lady Gaga perform in the city for the first time. Buyers queued for up to three days to get tickets for the second of two shows by the US star on May 2 and 3 which sold out within 90 minutes of going on sale Monday, the South China Morning Post reported. Tickets with a face value equivalent to 200 US dollars were immediately being traded on the black market at the equivalent of $3,868 each, according to the report. Police were called to deal with scuffles and allegations of queue-jumping outside at least one of 29 outlets where tickets went on sale. A second Lady Gaga date was added after tickets for the first show at Hong Kong's 14,000-capacity AsiaWorld-Expo venue on May 2 sold out within hours last week. Gaga, the pop sensation is making her first visit to Hong Kong and is expected to perform at a number of other Asian venues during her tour of the region, her website said.
