Dubai (dpa) – Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova withdrew on Monday from the Dubai Championships after picking up a virus in recent days. The Czech second seed was replaced in the draw by German Sabine Lisicki, who will enjoy a bye into the second round after taking the place of a top four seed. Kvitova last played as she earned two victories in Fed Cup the week after the Australian Open. She also missed last week's Doha WTA tournament, won by world number one Victoria Nazarene, who now stands a flawless 17-0 in 2012.
