CAIRO: Egypt's ministry of foreign affairs said it is closely following the case of an Egyptian man who was arrested and charged with illegally smuggling Egyptian citizens into Poland and from it to Germany between 2006 and 2007. The man was arrested at Warsaw airport. The Egyptian Embassy in Poland is conducting talks with the Polish authorities in the hope to help the man, the foreign ministry said. A source inside the foreign ministry said Thursday that the embassy will do all it can to aid the man and follow the investigation. The man is suspected to have cooperated with an organized crime group in smuggling at least 12 illegal aliens into the country. Many Egyptians seek a better life in Europe and are often caught attempting to sneak into the continent via boats and other means of transportation.
