CAIRO: Sudanese authorities rescued 35 Egyptian fishermen after their boats sank in the Red Sea near the Sudanese coast on monday, according to a report from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The men were evacuated them two sinking boats, one carrying 19 fishermen and the other holding 16 of their colleagues. Amr Rushdie, the spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, said that the Egyptian embassy in Sudan has set up operations room to follow up on the situation. Of the fisherman, 33 are in good condition, while two sustained injuries. The embassy will return all the men to Egypt as soon as their conditions are stable. Rushdie praised the efforts made by the Sudanese authorities to save the Egyptian fishermen and provide them with care. He stressed that this will newly emphasize the need for brotherly relations between the peoples of the two nations.
