CAIRO: Hundreds of Egyptians are already flocking to Cairo's Tahrir square Thursday night ahead of the mass protest planned for Friday after police and military forces evacuated the area, leaving people to roam free around the square. Groups of people are planning to spend the night and get an early start for the Friday of “Correct the Course.” The demonstration is ecpected to draw thousands of poeple coming to the square following the noon prayer. It will be the first major demonstration since before Ramadan. The political movements that called for the protests said the Friday demonstration wants to bring an end to trying civilians in military court and demanding the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) announce specific dates for both the parliamentary and presidential elections. The ministry of health said it is sending some 33 ambulances to offer medical assistance in case injuries occur or cases of sun stroke happen. A small group of young men were singing and dancing in the middle of the central garden in Tahrir, chanting against the SCAF and police. The Friday protests will not see any Islamic participation, as those groups announced they will not join in while others accused some of them of striking political deals with the government and the SCAF and therefore do not want to upset them.
