South Africa's leading communications agency, VWV Group, has recently been appointed to produce the launch of a new telecommunications network on the continent. Bharti Airtel is one of Asia's leading telecom service providers and is second in Africa behind MTN. It is the 6th largest in the world, according to Business Week International and was commissioned by VWV to launch the brand into 16 African countries through a number of simultaneous events. “The Airtel launches were conceptualized, produces and managed by VWV,” the company said in a press statement. “In true experiential style, audiences were kept entertained with a slick interactive production, which witnessed a marriage between pre-recorded video and live theatrical presentations. With stage actors performing alongside on-screen characters, audiences were treated to a truly superior brand experience representative of the youthful, international, inclusive and dynamic identity of the Airtel brand. These events were staged in Burkina Faso, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Madagascar, Niger, Nigeria, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia.” BM
