NFL: The week in review
Published in Bikya Masr on 28 - 09 - 2010

It was a fairly interesting Sunday for the NFL. If you were watching you got to see the Steelers finally realize they have a solid replacement for Ben Roethlisberger, in Charlie Batch, Dolphins fans to cheer the city's newest athlete, LeBron James, the Browns to lose another game after having have the lead, and the defending Super Bowl champion Saints to lose to the Falcons in overtime among other things. Needless to say it was an interesting week in the young NFL season.
Redskins-16 Rams-30
St. Louis got their first win of the season stunning Washington. The Rams started fast going up 14-0 in the first quarter and added to it in the second half gaining 365 yards of offense on the day.
Eagles-28 Jaguars-3
Philadelphia's defense constantly had the Jags confused and out of sync and Vick accounted for four touchdowns for the Eagles as they improved to 2-1 on the season.
Colts-27 Broncos-13
Denver choked in the red zone a number of times and that was all the Colts needed as they improved to 2-1 on the season.
Raiders-23 Cardinals-24
Three missed field goals by Oakland prevented them from getting what would have been the biggest upset of the 2010 season so far. The Cardinals are now 2-1 while the Raiders are 1-2.
Chargers-20 Seahawks-27
Seattle scored ten fourth quarter points to hold off San Diego. The two teams accounted for seven turnovers as well as 789 yards of offense.
Jets-31 Dolphins-23
Miami and New York traded scores through out much of the game, but the Jets outscored the Dolphins in both halves to have the edge at the end.
49ers-10 Chiefs-31
The Chiefs gained over 400 yards of offense on the day compared to the 49ers 251. Kansas City started the second half strong to take a 24-3 lead on their way to winning by three touchdowns.
Lions-10 Vikings-24
Peterson rushed for 160 yards for Minnesota, and scored two touchdowns as the Vikings got their first win of the season and dropped Detroit to 0-3.
Bills-30 Patriots-38
Tom Brady was almost perfect for New England, throwing for three touchdowns and 252 yards and completing 21 of 27 passes. The Bills hung with the Patriots but ran out of time. They are now 0-3 on the season.
Falcons-27 Saints-24
Atlanta handed New Orleans their first loss of the season when they kicked the winning field goal in overtime. Both teams now stand at 2-1.
Titans-29 Giants-10
The second quarter produced all of the Giants' ten points but it was not enough to stop the Titans, who took advantage of three New York turnovers, and won by nineteen.
Steelers-38 Buccaneers-13
Pittsburgh scored three touchdowns in the second quarter and held Tampa Bay to just one touchdown despite only gaining 84 more yards on offense, 387 to the Buccaneers 303.
Bengals-20 Panthers-7
Cincinnati had two turnovers, but Carolina had four as they fell to 0-3 on the season. The Bengals are now 2-1.
Browns-17 Ravens-24
It may have been a closer game than Baltimore would have liked, but in the end they put the Browns away who are now 0-3 on the season.
Cowboys-27 Texans-13
Houston had three turnovers, and could not stop Romo who threw for 284 yards and two touchdowns.
