Dear Readers, Late last week, our website was hacked by unknown assailants. It caused visitors to the website a number of problems, including viruses being delivered to their computers. This was an unfortunate incident and we apologize for any inconvenience that it left for readers. The situation has been resolved and we are working hard to ensure this does not happen again. In the meantime, the fact that a number of Egyptian bloggers were happy that Bikya Masr was hacked has left a sour taste in our mouths. It questions the honesty and well-meaning nature of bloggers as they promote freedom of speech. At Bikya Masr, we have always supported freedom of speech, even if it is not something we agree about. We were disappointed to hear the comments by some bloggers about our site being hacked and hopefully they will grow up and begin again thinking about the importance of freedom of speech, from all sides. We will begin publishing our daily news, analysis and coverage tomorrow, Thursday April 22, and will have a number of articles commemorating Earth Day. Thank you all for your patience and we are ready to keep working at making Bikya Masr as best we can. Sincerely, Joseph Mayton, Editor/Founder
