Optimus strengthening Middle East operations
Published in Bikya Masr on 12 - 04 - 2010

Optimus Technology and Telecommunications, a leading regional Value Added Distributor (VAD) of IT and telecommunications products, today announced that it is enhancing its logistics capability and support to its partners in Egypt, Qatar and Pakistan by maintaining local stocks for some of its products. This will enable the company to respond faster to its partners’ requirements and in turn enhance service deliveries to customers. With this new service, Optimus becomes the only distributor in the MENA region to offer its channel partners a wide range of value added services and support with local stocking options.
“Over the last two years, Optimus has grown tremendously because of the strong support and solid backing we have received from our vendor and channel partners. This year, we felt the need to strengthen our operations further by offering our partners local stocking of our products in key markets, which in turn will enable us to serve and support our customers and channel partners better,” says Ms. Meera Kaul Sawhney, Managing Director at Optimus Technology and Telecommunications.
“Egypt is emerging as an important IT Hub for the Middle East and Africa and is a very important market for us. With so many companies opening up in the region, we see tremendous potential for our products in this region. To enhance our support to our partners in Egypt and North Africa and to provide local logistical support, we decided to stock some of our products locally for faster delivery to customers’ requests. No other distributor offers the channel stocking options locally, which clearly demonstrates our commitment to our customers and partners in the region, who will now be able to receive advice, high-quality technical support and consulting services closer to home from Optimus’ dedicated team in Egypt. We will also be replicating this model in countries such as KSA and Pakistan soon,” adds Ms. Sawhney.
Optimus is a multinational VAD serving solution integrators, solution providers and the value-added partner community. The company offers its channel partners across the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan a single window solution for a wide spectrum of products catering to their entire technology and telecom needs. Optimus provides products and services across different solution parameters to enable and enhance its partners’ revenues. The company launched its hosting applications offering and strengthened its support services to its partners through Optimus 360°, which is suite of services across sales, marketing, pre and post sales support.
At a time when most distributors are scaling back due to the challenging global economic conditions, Optimus is one of the few distributors that has been investing significantly in infrastructure and resources to benefit the channel. Optimus offers its channel partners value-added services such as technical and product training, pre-sales and post-sales support, lead generation through call centers, marketing services and technical support services, which are designed to improve their competitive advantage and increase their profitability. Optimus also offers its current channel partners facilities through its Business Partner Portal to enable self-serve mode of service in a more efficient manner.
