CAIRO: Telecom Egypt awarded Alcatel-Lucent a contract for the assessment, reengineering, and modernization of its operations and maintenance processes in order to improve its customer satisfaction, its commitment on SLAs, and make optimal use of the existing resources, according to a press statement. Alcatel-Lucent will assist Telecom Egypt enhance the overall efficiency of its operations & maintenance organization and improve customer satisfaction through the implementation of customized processes with measurable results that will enable it to more effectively deploy, manage changes on the existing services and add smoothly new complex services to its network. The contract also includes Alcatel-Lucent s expertise in OSS applications design and integration. Telecom Egypt s CEO Akil Bashisr sees strategic advantages in the alliance with Alcatel-Lucent. New telecommunications technologies today support the launch of a wide range of added value services designed to meet our customers expectations. To take full advantage of this potential, we have decided to more focus on the development of customer-specific services and therefore will partner with Alcatel-Lucent as a strategic network partner to help us in operating and managing those services efficiently. The project will start by assessing the existing tools and processes, then the definition of new processes and relating them to tangible KPIs. ALU will train Telecom Egypt staff on the new processes and working methods then will lead its implementation in the field and will follow up its impact on the performance.
