Vincenzo Nesci was appointed president of Alcatel-Lucent's business operations in more than 62 countries across Africa and the Middle East. "The Middle East and Africa are among Alcatel-Lucent's most promising markets, and we are committed to helping our customers in this region grow their business by making it possible for them to offer useful new service," Nesci said. Joining Alcatel in 1980, Nesci brings with him several years of experience in the region. "We have talented and dedicated teams in this region as well as an International Service Center in Egypt that is committed to serving our customers here and worldwide." Nesci will work out of the company's regional office in Cairo's Smart Village, enhancing Alcatel-Lucent position in the fixed and mobile segment, applications and professional services, as well as making a foray into the energy, transport, defense and security sectors. /p
