Egypt's Planning Minister Hala al-Saeed said the reform bundles and the serious steps taken by the government in the past few years have contributed to achieving tangible progress in accomplishing the sustainable development targets. Saeed said Egypt came in third rank as regards the increase in economic growth rates, according to The Economist magazine. Saeed's remarks came on Tuesday in an address read out on her behalf by Deputy Planning Minister Ahmed Kamali during a ceremony organized by the Egyptian Junior Business Association (EJB) on the sidelines of the visit of Vice President of African Development Bank (AfDB) for Power, Energy, Climate Change and Green Growth Wale Shonibare. Saeed pointed out to the decrease in unemployment rate to reach 8.1 percent during the first quarter of 2019 in comparison to 13.2 percent in 2014. She said Shonibare's visit represents an opportunity to achieve coordination between AfDB and the Egyptian government within the framework of cooperation between Egypt and the African states.
