Housing Minister to Cooperate with HBNRC

Dr.Tarek Wafiq, Minister of Housing and New Urban Communities Authority, stated that cooperation with the Housing and Building National Research Center (HBNRC) is crucial to the Social Housing project, in order to reduce the expenses by 15%, in addition to accelerating the completion of the project.
In exclusive statements to Amwal Al Ghad, Wafiq added that the HBNRC conducts researches that can be very beneficial to the projects held by the Ministry. He also pointed out that researches that are not applicable are worthless.
The Ministry of Housing will rely mainly on the HBNRC in the coming period, believing that the HBNRC would sustain the project of the "One Million People City."
On his part, Dr.Khaled El-Zahaby stated that HBNRC is currently responsible for supervising the 20.000 apartments that will be built using non-traditional building materials. The role of the HBNRC is to evaluate the materials used by the companies involved in the construction of these apartments, in addition to checking the appropriateness of the material for use. He also noted that the HBNRC can provide more material and increase the number and speed up the construction of these apartments.
