Egypt on track to execute 5 water stations in Giza: minister

Egypt is implementing five drinking water stations in Giza governorate, at a cost of 1.655 billion Egyptian pounds ($95.9 billion), said Housing Minister Asem El-Gazzar on Wednesday.
The country aims to double the capacity of the five stations to 430,000 cubic metres per day to solve the problem of water cuts in a number of areas in Giza, El-Gazzar further added.
On 13 February 2019, newly-appointed El-Gazzar was sworn-in before Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to assume office, presidential spokesman Bassam Rady announced in a statement.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Utilities portfolio was previously maintained by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, who served this role since 2014.In June 2018, Madbouly was appointed as Prime Minister.
El-Gazzar has served as Deputy Housing Minister since January 2018. He graduated from the Faculty of Urban Planning at Cairo University and chaired the General Authority for Urban Planning.
