CBE: Iron Sales 8000 T Down By End of April

The iron prices soared by 7 Egyptian pounds per ton to reach EGP 4721 by the end of April. Noting that, the price of iron had reached EGP 4714 by the end of March.
The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has shown in its latest report that iron sales have dipped by 8 thousand tons to eventually reach 555 thousand tons in April, compared to 563 thousand tons in March. The CBE report has also revealed that iron production has decreased by 36 thousand tons to record 510 thousand tons in April, compared to 546 thousand tons in March.
Additionally, the cement production for its two kinds; white and grey, have declined by 289 thousand tons to eventually reach 4.6 million tons by the end of last April, compared to 4.9 million tons by the end of last March.
Grey clinker production has surged by 27 thousand tons to record 4.272 million tons by the end of last April, compared to 4.245 million tons by the end of last March. However, the domestic consumption of grey and white cements as well as the clinker went down to reach 4.431 million tons, compared to 4.742 million tons, according to the CBE's latest report.
The exports of both white and grey cements have went down by 70 thousand tons to reach 227 thousand tons by the end of last April, compared to 297 thousand tons by the end of last March. The exports of the grey and white clinker have dropped by 24 thousand tons to reach 6 thousand by the end of last April, compared to 30 thousand tons by the end of last March.
