Banque Misr: EGP 12 Mln For Grand Egyptian Museum

Banque Misr has allocated EGP 12 million to establish a school for children to be named after the bank. The school is one of the major projects of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) – Phase III. The sum of money the bank funded shall paid off through payments within five years.
The school aims at training about one million children from different ages to learn arts and crafts of the old ancient Egyptian civilization besides other ancient civilizations. The children will be trained in jewellery industry, cloth designs and sewing, and also wax as well as leather works.
Banque Misr believes in the major role the GEM plays as it is one of the biggest cultural project in the new millennium. The GEM represents the biggest museum in the entire world which
The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), also known as the Giza Museum, is a planned museum of artifacts of ancient Egypt. Described as the largest archaeological museum in the world, the USD 550 million museum is scheduled to open in 2013. It will include the old Egyptian monuments since prehistoric ages till of Ptolemy and Romans. Many local and international institutions, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in particular.
The museum will be sited on 50 hectares (120 acres) of land approximately two kilometers from the Giza pyramids and is part of a new master plan for the plateau.
