The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Poland is expected to reach $600 million approximately by the end of this year, according to an Egyptian commercial representation report. Trade exchange rose 3 percent year-on-year to exceed more than $350 million throughout the first eight months of 2016. Egypt's Ministry of Trade is planning to increase bilateral trade exchange with Poland by 20 percent, Ahmed Antar – Head of Commercial Representation – said on Wednesday. Egypt's exports to Poland are likely to surge to around $130 million by the end of this year, Antar noted. Egyptian and Polish commercial offices are working on a plan to enable new Egyptian products to enter the Polish market such as chemicals and some ready-made garments, agricultural, and food industries, he said. The Egyptian official further said that the two parties are also cooperating to resume Egypt's phosphate exports to Poland, which were halted due to increase in energy prices in the North African country. Meanwhile, the Egyptian commercial office in Poland plans to organise some visits for a number of leading Polish firms to Cairo within November to study establishing joint projects in Egypt, Antar stated.
