Egypt's Prime Minister Sherif Ismail vowed on Tuesday that tough legal measures would be taken against those who leaked the exams of the country's general secondary certificate, his first comments since the controversy began. On Tuesday, Ismail visited the Ministry of Education headquarters in Cairo where he inspected the exams of the general secondary certificate along with Education Minister Al-Halali Sheribany. PM Ismail also stressed the importance of "developing and improving examination systems in Egypt in order to fight attempts to cheat". Earlier on Tuesday, security forces arrested the administrators of three Facebook pages for allegedly leaking the exams on social media. On Monday, the prosecution ordered the detention of 12 officials from the education ministry for 15 days pending investigations into the leaking of the exams.
