Egypt's Foreign Cash Reserves Surge $73 million in January 2014

Egypt's foreign exchange reserves surged by $ 73 million to $ 17.104 billion in January from $ 17.031 billion in December, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced on Thursday, to welcome the arrival of the new year.
The reserves stood at $ 17 billion by 2013-end, down by EGP 734 million. Egypt's foreign exchange reserves, which stood at $36 billion on the eve of the 2011 uprising against former President Hosni Mubarak, have been hit by political turmoil since his downfall.
