ChatGPT said: Egypt and Bahrain are set to double bilateral trade — currently valued at around $400 million — within two years. The announcement came during an expanded session of talks co-chaired by Egypt's Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly and Bahrain's Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa on Wednesday, marking the start of a new phase of cooperation between Cairo and Manama. Madbouly said the visit serves as a launchpad for expanding economic and investment ties, highlighting opportunities in aluminium, banking, green economy, and sustainable development projects. He confirmed Egypt's readiness to provide full support and facilities for Bahraini investments and noted that 22 memoranda of understanding and agreements had been prepared, with eight signed during the talks. For his part, Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa confirmed that Bahraini businesses already have a strong presence in the Egyptian market and added that the 22 memoranda and agreements signed during his current visit cover sectors such as trade, banking, and engineering consultancy. Bahraini ministers accompanying the crown prince expressed their commitment to doubling trade volumes and boosting cooperation in finance, logistics, tourism, construction, and food security, emphasising that Bahrain's leadership considers cooperation with Egypt a priority. Egyptian ministers echoed this view, pointing to the signed agreements and the strengthened role of business communities as key outcomes of the visit. Madbouly concluded the session by inviting King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Crown Prince to attend the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum at the invitation of President El-Sisi.
