SCO Plus states call for Gaza ceasefire, peace push

Members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) expressed deep concern over the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
In their closing communique, the Tianjin Declaration, the member states strongly condemned actions that caused heavy civilian casualties and a humanitarian disaster in Gaza.
They stressed the need for a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire at the earliest opportunity, the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and intensified efforts to ensure peace, stability, and security in the region.
The declaration added that the only path to peace and stability in the Middle East is a comprehensive and just solution to the Palestinian question.
