Egypt's Drug Authority (EDA) head Ali El-Ghamrawy has held a virtual meeting with Uzbekistan's Centre for Pharmaceutical Product Safety (CPPS) to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector, the Cabinet reported. Discussions focused on exchanging regulatory and technical expertise, enhancing oversight systems, and building stronger pharmaceutical capacities, according to the announcement. El-Ghamrawi stressed that international partnerships are essential for achieving drug security, highlighting Egypt's recent progress in modernising regulatory frameworks and boosting technical and scientific capabilities. Uzbek representatives praised Egypt's advances in regulatory development and expressed interest in benefiting from its experience, underscoring their keenness to build a long-term strategic partnership. The meeting comes as part of the EDA's efforts to reinforce its regional and global role as a key partner in building resilient health systems that support sustainable development, the statement added.
