Egypt's Petroleum Minister Karim Badawi inspected the MIDOR Middle East Oil Refinery on Wednesday to review its modernisation and expansion works, which have boosted its operational capacity to 160,000 barrels per day (bpd). During the visit, Badawi toured the new and upgraded production units and the main control room, where officials highlighted the refinery's capability to produce fuel that meets European standards Euro 5. Midor Chairman Amr Lotfy presented the refinery's operational and financial performance, highlighting its role in supplying between 17 and 20 per cent of the local market's diesel and gasoline needs. The Minister also met with work teams from Midor and partner companies, including EPROM, Egyptian Maintenance Company (San Masr), Alexandria Petroleum Maintenance CO (Petromaint), Enppi, and Petrojet.
