Egypt's Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly met with Democratic Republic of Congo Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka to enhance cooperation in trade and infrastructure projects, on the sidelines of TICAD 9 being held in Japan during the period from August 20 to 22, the Cabinet said on Wednesday. Madbouly reiterated Egypt's support for DR Congo's unity and sovereignty, as well as its efforts to stabilise the country's eastern region. He said Egypt stands ready to contribute to development projects in the DRC, including the construction of a dam similar to projects implemented by Egypt in other Nile Basin countries. He also underlined Cairo's support for DR Congo's membership in the UN Security Council, while expressing hope for Kinshasa's backing of Egypt's nominee, Khaled El-Anany, for the post of UNESCO Director-General. Tuluka reiterated her dedication to strengthening cooperation with the Egyptian government in various fields and expressed her intention to promptly sign cooperation agreements, the statement added.
