Egypt's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, has inspected the operational units of Alexandria National Refining and Petrochemicals Company (ANRPC), which produces around 30 per cent of the country's gasoline output, in addition to benzol, a key feedstock for petrochemical projects. Following the inspection, Minister Badawi attended ANRPC's General Assembly to approve the 2024-2025 fiscal year results. He highlighted the company's crucial role in implementing the ministry's strategy, citing its strong production performance, skilled workforce, and robust infrastructure. The minister called for a comprehensive economic vision to guide the company's future expansions, ensuring sustained growth, increased local production, reduced imports, and the opening of new export opportunities. During the assembly, Sayed El-Rawi, chairman of ANRPC, reported that the company maintained high productivity last fiscal year, producing 1.6 million tons of high-octane gasoline, along with other high-value products. He also highlighted the main boiler conversion project to operate on hydrogen, which utilises 12,000 tons per year of hydrogen-rich gases and reduces natural gas consumption by approximately 20,000 tons annually. El-Rawi outlined additional development efforts, including efficiency upgrades across production units and a new 10,000-tonne storage depot. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: M. S. Salama
