The Arab League has strongly condemned remarks by the Israeli prime minister about cutting parts of sovereign Arab states in preparation for what he called 'Greater Israel'. In a statement on Wednesday, the Arab League's General Secretariat said the remarks amount to a violation of Arab states' sovereignty and an attempt to undermine regional security and stability. It stressed that the statements pose a serious threat to collective Arab national security, blatantly challenge international law and legitimacy, reflect expansionist and aggressive intentions that cannot be accepted or tolerated, and expose an extremist mindset steeped in colonial illusions. The Arab League called on the international community, represented by the UN Security Council, to shoulder its responsibility and firmly confront such extremist statements, which destabilise the region and fuel hatred and regional rejection of Israel.
