Egypt's Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has welcomed eight new tech startups into the latest round of its flagship Start IT incubation programme and unveiled a new digital perks platform offering discounted tools and services. The 47th cohort, announced by ITIDA's Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre (TIEC) on Monday, will receive an expanded support package worth 480,000 Egyptian pounds per company, up from 180,000 pounds, as well as doubled Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud credits of $10,000. The new intake includes startups tackling challenges in healthcare, education, sports, logistics and e-commerce. Among them are Cluster, which streamlines pharmaceutical supply chains; Mystery Bag, which redistributes surplus food and inventory; Converse2Note, which uses AI to produce structured medical reports; and Coccarohome, which connects women artisans to buyers. Other ventures are Sportyano, LRNOVA, TANKER, and eDariba. ITIDA also launched Start IT Perks, a platform granting incubated companies discounted access to services from local partners including Talents Arena, Sprints, The WhiteGuard, Qayedeny, Camion, Techie Matter, DevisionX, and Zurqa. The aim is to cut operational costs, speed scaling and expand talent recruitment options. Additional programme enhancements include AI enablement initiatives, specialised advisory sessions, and hiring support to help startups build technical teams. Launched in 2013, Start IT offers a year-long incubation for early-stage ICT startups, providing financial grants, in-kind services, mentorship, co-working space, and go-to-market support.
