Egypt's Industrial Modernistaion Centre (IMC) has launched a new website for the Creative Egypt initiative, aimed at promoting and selling traditional and artisanal products across the country, the Cabinet stated. The launch of creativeEgypt.org on August 8, 2025, marks the 10th anniversary of the Creative Egypt initiative. Established in 2015 by the IMC under the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the initiative aims to promote Egypt's heritage crafts, develop new markets for artisan communities and craft businesses, and create sustainable job opportunities. The new e-commerce platform features over 900 authentic handmade products—ranging from leather, textiles, glass, and ceramics to wood, stone, and metal crafts—offering a modern digital avenue to support traditional workmanship and empower craft communities nationwide The platform showcases authentic, high-quality traditional handmade crafts such as tulle embroidery, pottery, alabaster woodwork, hand embroidery, shawls, and other exquisite handmade items, IMC's Executive Director Doaa Selima has said. She emphasised that heritage crafts are vital industries in Egypt. The centre has been supporting these crafts for two decades by preserving them, offering technical assistance, and creating product designs for craft communities across the country. The programme offers specialised training to improve skills, modernise designs to suit current tastes and export markets, and enhance product quality for display in major exhibitions, in addition to facilitating sales through the new website.
