Egypt's Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El-Wazir chaired the annual general Assembly meeting of the Suez Canal Company for Maritime Port Development approving the financial statements for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2024. The board provided progress updates on key infrastructure projects, such as the construction of an 850-metre-long berth with a total area of 270,000 square metres, land reclamation of the Tahya Misr 2 terminal, and Taba seaport development. El-Wazir stressed the strategic importance of these projects in supporting Egypt's integrated transport network. He urged the firm to adhere to project timelines and expand its activities in developing, operating, and maintaining maritime ports, multi-purpose terminals, and container handling facilities globally. The company's scope of work also includes the provision of logistics services across sea, land, and rail, aligning with Egypt's broader efforts to strengthen its role as a regional trade and logistics hub, according to the announcement.
