The Egyptian Countryside Development Company signed a cooperation protocol on Thursday with the Agricultural Research Centre (ARC), part of the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, granting it exclusive rights to produce hybrid vegetable seeds. Under the agreement, the company will be the sole producer and commercial operator of the "Horus" hybrid cucumber variety within its experimental farm in the Maghara area, a zone included in Egypt's 1.5 million feddan national land reclamation project. Production will be carried out under the direct technical supervision of the Horticulture Research Institute (HRI), according to the Egyptian Cabinet's statement. The exclusive rights are valid for an initial period of three years and may be renewed by mutual agreement. No other entity is permitted to produce or exploit the Horus hybrid seeds without prior written approval from the Egyptian Countryside Development Company.
