Egypt's Chamber of Food Industries and Chamber of Engineering Industries held a joint meeting to explore cooperation opportunities aimed at deepening local manufacturing and fostering integration between industrial sectors. The meeting focused on identifying how local engineering companies can meet the technical needs of food industry factories, including production lines, spare parts, and equipment, according to the report. Key requirements discussed included packaging lines, poultry processing machinery, milk cooling and collection centre equipment, dryers, and grain, vegetable, and fruit sorting technologies. Representatives from the Chamber of Engineering Industries expressed their full readiness to supply these needs with locally manufactured products that can compete with imported alternatives. Participants from both chambers emphasised the strategic importance of such cooperation in supporting domestic industry and reducing reliance on imports, according to the statement. The two sides agreed to continue coordination through practical mechanisms such as distributing surveys to identify food industry factory needs and matching them with the capabilities of engineering firms.
