Egypt's Ministry of Social Solidarity signed a cooperation protocol with the Supreme Council of Technological Education to establish 12 new social solidarity units within technological universities across the country, according to a Cabinet statement. The unit is aimed to provide all social and economic services to students by offering an integrated package that meets their basic needs during their university years—whether throughout the academic year or the summer break—and to recent graduates after completing their studies. This contributes to promoting social peace and security to achieve the desired goals of integrated and sustainable development, according to the website of one of the units. The unit also seeks to strengthen the spirit of belonging, citizenship, volunteerism, and participation in public and developmental work, thereby increasing investment in human capital.
