Kenya's annual inflation rose to 4.1 per cent in July from 3.8 per cent in June, driven by higher food, transport, housing, and utility costs, according to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics. Monthly inflation slowed to 0.1 per cent from 0.5 per cent. The central bank, which targets inflation within a 2.5–7.5 per cent range, is scheduled to review interest rates on August 12, after cutting the benchmark rate to 9.75 per cent in June to support the economy.
