Egypt's Ministry of Health and Population has denied reports claiming an increase of the medicine coinsurance , a percentage paid by the patient, from 35 per cent to 70 per cent, stating that such claims are unfounded. In an official statement, the Ministry confirmed that no changes have been made to the rules governing the disbursement of medications for health insurance beneficiaries. This includes medications such as Plavix for the treatment of blood clots, Entresto for high blood pressure and heart conditions, and insulin for diabetes patients. The General Authority for Health Insurance reaffirmed its commitment to serving nearly 69 million citizens who currently benefit from health insurance services under existing policies without any modifications. The ministry also dismissed the validity of any documents or photocopies attributed to the Central Administration for Pharmaceutical Affairs within the Authority, stating that they are fabricated and do not reflect reality. The ministry advised citizens to disregard rumours and to verify any information through the official channels. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: M. S. Salama
