The Egyptian government has signed a cooperation protocol with Italy's Nuove Tecnologie della Vita Academy to establish and develop five applied technology schools. Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly witnessed the signing ceremony on Wednesday between the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, and the Italian academy. Starting from the 2025/26 academic year, the schools will operate under international quality standards in electricity-related fields, including generation, transmission, and distribution. According to the agreement, the schools aim to graduate qualified technicians in electricity and renewable energy. Additional specialisations may be introduced or removed depending on the needs of the Egyptian and Italian labour markets. Each school will offer a three-year programme followed by two optional years. Successful students will be awarded a technical secondary school certificate accredited by Egypt's education ministry, alongside an experience certificate from the electricity ministry and an international certificate from the Italian academy. The protocol seeks to improve the quality of technical education, align it with global standards, equip youth with future-ready skills, and create real employment opportunities to support economic development.
