Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 12 - 06 - 2025

Egypt's Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Sherif El Sherbiny met with Chairman of the National Company for General Contracting and Supplies Essam Galal on Monday to review joint cooperation on a range of infrastructure projects, as per a Cabinet statement.
The meeting focused on the wastewater system in the Red Sea city of Dahab, particularly the rehabilitation and upgrade of a sewage treatment plant with a design capacity of 8,000 cubic metres per day.
The minister reviewed project designs and operational components, instructing a full technical study to be prepared and implementation to begin immediately, in line with Dahab's current and future needs.
Discussions also covered joint projects between the National Authority for Potable Water and Sewage and the company in the governorates of Kafr El Sheikh, Gharbia, and Matrouh.
El Sherbiny ordered the immediate operation of completed facilities to maximise public benefits and ensure a return on recent infrastructure investments.
The meeting also addressed the status of the Eastern Expansion substation in 6th of October City and the progress of four overhead power lines in Sadat City connecting high-voltage stations.
