Egypt's Minister of Housing Sherif El-Sherbiny met with New Valley Governor Mohamed El-Zamlot to review cooperation on water and wastewater projects across the governorate, the Ministry announced on Tuesday. El-Sherbiny affirmed his full support for accelerating the implementation of all ongoing projects in the governorate. The meeting reviewed progress on potable water and sewage treatment plants, as well as timelines for their completion. The Minister instructed that work be expedited to ensure the swift completion and operation of these facilities to serve residents in New Valley. Discussions included the expansion of the wastewater treatment plant in Kharga City. The first phase of the expansion, with a capacity of 30,000 m3/day, has been completed, while plans for the second phase—expected to add 15,000 m3/day—are under study El-Sherbiny directed the immediate operation of all completed but inactive facilities to ensure residents benefit from the investments.
