Egypt's Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El Khatib held talks on Saturday with Italian Ambassador to Egypt Michele Quaroni to explore ways of enhancing bilateral economic ties and increasing Italian investment in Egypt. El Khatib highlighted the ministry's commitment to providing an attractive investment climate and offering incentives for Italian investors. He noted that Egypt is implementing a comprehensive plan to open new areas of cooperation with the Italian business community, including simplifying procedures and offering full support—especially amid unprecedented backing for the private sector and foreign enterprises. The minister pointed to recent economic reforms aimed at improving the business environment, streamlining customs procedures and reducing clearance times. He emphasised key sectors of mutual interest, such as the green economy, water desalination, recycling, and priority industries. Ambassador Quaroni welcomed Egypt's efforts to improve the investment climate and underscored the importance of continued coordination with the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade. He noted that many Italian companies are eager to enter the Egyptian market and praised the ministry's follow-up with existing Italian businesses in the country. He also expressed interest in preparing for a promotional visit to Italy to present Egypt's updated business environment and investment prospects. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: M. S.
