Japan's exports dropped by 0.5 per cent year-on-year in June 2025 to ¥9.16 trillion, compared to ¥9.20 trillion recorded in the same month last year, according to provisional data released on Thursday by the Ministry of Finance. Imports saw a slight increase of 0.2 per cent compared to June 2024, reaching ¥9.01 trillion. As a result, the country's trade surplus shrank significantly by 30.8 per cent to ¥153.1 billion.
