Egypt's Deputy Minister of Health Mohamed El-Tayeb held a meeting on Wednesday to follow up on the latest developments in the country's medical tourism file and preparations for launching the country's new medical tourism platform, as per a Cabinet statement. The meeting also discussed dental training programes to enhance Egypt's medical tourism strategy and promote healthcare services globally. The discussions considered progress made on the digital platform for medical tourism, which is set to provide comprehensive healthcare and logistical services to international patients. The meeting also covered removing barriers and creating a safe environment for both physicians and patients. The meeting discussed potential collaboration with Nour El-Din Mostafa, a member of the International Congress of Dental Implants – New York University, to enhance dentists' skills and readiness for the labour market through targeted training programmes. The ministry's spokesperson noted that the ministry has upgraded dental clinics in hospitals and health units, introducing advanced dental equipment to improve service quality, according to the announcement. Additionally, the meeting reviewed the presence of the dental sector in the third edition of the Global Congress on Population, Health and Human Development, scheduled to take place from 10–14 November this year.
