UK annual consumer price inflation rose to 3.6 per cent in June 2025, up from 3.4 per cent in May, driven largely by higher transport costs, particularly motor fuels, data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed on Wednesday. On a monthly basis, the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) increased by 0.3 per cent, compared with a 0.1 per cent rise in June 2024. Core CPI, which excludes energy, food, alcohol, and tobacco, rose to 3.7 per cent year-on-year, up from 3.5 per cent the previous month. Goods inflation climbed from 2.0 to 2.4 per cent, while services inflation held steady at 4.7 per cent. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: M. S. Salama
