Singapore's economy expanded by 4.3 per cent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2025, according to advance estimates released on July 14, slightly above the 4.1 per cent growth recorded in the first quarter. On a quarter-on-quarter seasonally adjusted basis, the economy grew by 1.4 per cent, recovering from a 0.5 per cent contraction in the previous quarter. For the first half of 2025 overall, GDP growth averaged 4.2 per cent year-on-year. Despite the stronger performance, authorities warned of continued uncertainty and downside risks in the global economy during the second half of the year, particularly due to unclear US tariff policies.
