Egypt's Minister of Labour Mohamed Gobran held a meeting with Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of Yazaki Egypt for Electrical Systems Ahmed Bedewy to discuss areas of cooperation. The two sides agreed to draft a cooperation protocol focused on training and employment, aiming to support workforce development and strengthen industrial partnerships. The foundation stone for Yazaki's first factory in Egypt was laid in January 2024. The facility, located on a 67,000 square metre site, represents an initial investment of around €30 million. The project will create 3000 direct job opportunities and 500 indirect job opportunities. The company plans to export 100 per cent of its production to major European car manufacturers, with expected annual exports valued at €100 million. Yazaki Egypt is a joint-stock company established under Egypt's private free zone system and operates as part of the Japan-based Yazaki Group. The parent company runs 141 sites across 46 countries and employs approximately 230,000 workers worldwide. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: M. S. Salama
