SpaceX to invest $2b in Elon Musk's AI startup xAI

SpaceX, owned by US billionaire Elon Musk, will invest $2 billion in xAI, the artificial intelligence startup behind the Grok chatbot, TASS reported, citing the Wall Street Journal.
The investment represents nearly half of a $5 billion equity round announced in June. In addition to the equity raise, xAI has reportedly secured $5 billion in debt financing and is expected to attract further investment by the end of the year.
Founded by Musk in April 2023, xAI is focused on developing advanced AI systems and is positioning itself as a competitor to OpenAI.
