Egypt's Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Esmat held a meeting with Housing Minister Sherif El Sherbiny to discuss a joint action plan to expand the use of renewable energy, modernise the national power grid, and coordinate efforts in new urban communities. The talks addressed project allocation, supervision mechanisms, and the assignment of operational and maintenance responsibilities for electricity infrastructure in the New Administrative Capital to the electricity ministry. The ministers also discussed utilising government buildings for solar power generation and identifying land within new cities for renewable energy projects. Esmat said enhancing energy efficiency and conserving electricity are key priorities, with a continued focus on ensuring reliable and sustainable power supply. He noted the progress in a government-wide initiative to install rooftop solar panels and highlighted ongoing efforts to reduce reliance on conventional fuels and cut carbon emissions. El Sherbiny reaffirmed the Housing Ministry's commitment to a green building strategy that promotes energy and water efficiency through environmentally friendly materials and renewable energy sources.
